CofC smokers have less than a month to light up on campus

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- An ordinance that passed last year is finally taking effect next month.

According to officials at the College of Charleston, no forms of tobacco use will be allowed on campus as of July 1.

The tobacco ban includes the use of electronic cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

According to a statement on the CofC website, the ban was approved by the board of trustees in October and is meant ot promote a healthier lifestyle for students, staff and visitors to the college.
