New Splash Pad in Tuscaloosa

Posted: Updated:
Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority has opened a new Splash Pad in Palmore Park at 3701 Fosters Ferry Road.
"The first thing you notice when you arrive in the Park is the 20 foot tall yellow and blue umbrellas," said Jay Strickland, director of park operations. "The river themed pad includes 21 spray pieces - a sea plane with slide, catfish, turtle, frog and alligator shaped characters and a 22 foot tall daisy - all of which squirt water. The characters are made of high impact fiberglass, similar to that of which boats are made."
Other attractions include a Big Kahuna wave, spray canons, a triple arch rain storm, buckets that dump water, bubblers and geysers. A number of the attractions are ADA compliant.  The hours are 12-5 pm Monday-Saturday and 1-5 pm Sunday. Admission is $5 per person and children under age 2 are admitted free.
