GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- It was a final farewell for the parents of Ariel Morgan and the friends who loved her Saturday afternoon. She was killed one week ago at a block party in which four other people were injured.

Family and friends laid 19-year-old Morgan to rest Saturday during a funeral ceremony at Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

The funeral service was filled with heartfelt speeches, praise dances, and singing to remember the teenager who was shot and killed at a Moncks Corner block party a week ago.

“At the end of the day, when I look at everything all I can do is smile because I know she is not hurting and she is in a better place. It hurts. But I know she is with God,” said Myieashia Johnson, a friend of Morgan.

Bradley Bowyer, Morgan’s father, said he’ll always remember the special text messages he and his daughter would share when he was away.

“One particular time I had just happened to send a quick text. I said ‘aye don’t want anything, just wanted to say I love you, kisses.’ About an hour later she responded back saying ‘awe’ and I could just hear her soft little voice in the text message saying it,” said Bowyer. “That’s what I would want her to be remembered for, is the beautiful person she was.”

Morgan’s high school friends say they remember her just as such.

“People would always say we used to be in the hallways laughing all the time. She was so fun we used to be so sarcastic with one another but she was my best friend, I love her even more and God is going to work it out,” said Kahlil Hamilton, Morgan’s close friend.

Bowyer says he would do anything to share one more moment with his daughter.

“I would tell her I love your, you are my little kitten and I am going to miss you like crazy,” said Bowyer.

Police are still investigating the case; they do not have any suspects. If you have any details, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
