Man pleads in Berkeley home invasion death

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (AP) - One of six people charged with murder in a 2011 home invasion death in St. Stephen has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Twenty-two-year-old Brandon Jenkins of Eutawville had been charged with murder, attempted murder and attempted armed robbery in the 2011 death of 21-year-old Brittany Algoro of St. Stephen.

Jenkins pleaded guilty in Moncks Corner on Monday to voluntary manslaughter and attempted murder. Circuit Judge Markley Dennis sentenced Jenkins to 24 years in prison.

Twenty-two-year-old Sheldon Goodman of Eutawville pleaded to the same charges May 5 and was sentenced to 23 years in prison.

Aigoro was shot and killed when bullets sprayed the house. A man in the house was wounded.

Charges are pending against four other people.
