CSI: CSU wraps up with case to solve Friday

Posted: Updated:

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The week wrapped up on Charleston Southern University's campus with a team of investigators studying a crime scene.

It was all part of a weeklong crime fighting camp.

High school students spent the week learning about crime-solving techniques used by real investigators, including fingerprinting, photography, and interrogation.

On Friday, the teens participated in a mock crime scene where they learned how much work goes into forensic work.

"It's not like it is on TV," said CSU professor Alan Fix. "It takes science, it takes math, it takes biology. And it's a hard job. It's seven days a week, 24 hours a day."

Members of the Charleston Police CSI team,Berkeley and Dorchester county deputies, North Charleston police, and members of the State Law Enforcement Division helped lead the camp.
