COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Poll managers across South Carolina are describing the turnout as light or low for the primary runoff.

Voters are going to the polls Tuesday to choose the Republican nominations for lieutenant governor and superintendent of education. On the Democratic side there is a runoff for superintendent of education.

State Elections Commission spokesman Chris Whitmire says there have been no real problems.

At one Horry County precinct no one showed up to open the school where the voting was to take place until after 7 a.m. when the polls were supposed to open. Poll workers said no one came to vote until the doors were open and the polls were up and running.
