CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Summerville man was arrested and charged in a robbery minutes after it happened Sunday in downtown Charleston.

According to Charleston police, 47-year-old Gene Hart was charged with armed robbery after someone went into the Rite Aid on Calhoun Street and demanded prescription medicines.

Police say the suspect went to the far end of the counter, showed a gun, and demanded the medication. He was given Norco and Valium, police said.
