BERKELEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County Rescue Squad members responded to a sinking boat in the middle of Lake Moultrie Tuesday night.
According to Berkeley County Rescue Squad Chief Bill Salisbury, three men were boating just after 8:30 p.m. when a wave came in and filled the boat with water. Officials said the men were able to grab their life jackets before the boat sank.
The SC Department of Natural Resources also responded and it was a DNR officer who pulled the men out around 9:30 p.m.
Salisbury credited the men's rescue to life jackets and cell phones, which the men used to call 911 and give directions.
