NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dorchester County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man they believe repeatedly vandalized a Dorchester Road church.

The first incident happened back in May. According to an incident report, deputies responded to the Peace Lutheran Church.

Witnesses told deputies a man destroyed a statue of Saint Francis behind the church and that it had happened more than once that week.

Then, on June 28, deputies were called to the church again when someone egged the front door and left a dead squirrel with a note in the mailbox.

According to the report, the note read "The squirrel is about as alive as your beloved Christ. Hail Satan! Hail Odin! Hail Anarchy!"

Deputies said the note also had drawings of a pentagram, an anarchy sign and a Celtic/Nordic rune. The note was signed "Count Grishhok," who deputies identified as a "Norwegian Black Metal artist who was convicted of murder and the arson of three churches."

The suspect, 19-year-old Ashton Taylor Clayton is charged with two counts of malicious injury to a place of worship.
