CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Here's proof even a small fire in a home can be dangerous.

A spokesperson for the Charleston Fire Department says one person needed medical treatment after a fire started in a home on Rosemont Street early Thursday. One patient was being transported by EMS as of 12:45 a.m. Fire officials do not believe the injuries are life threatening.

Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the building and a small fire in a wall. The fire was quickly put out. Northbound lanes of the Crosstown were blocked for a time. They have since reopened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Another incident also brought firefighters to the peninsula Wednesday night. According to CFD officials, crews responded near 450 King for a possible structure fire. An employee of Monza Pizza had started a pizza oven which filled the restaurant with smoke and caused smoke to come out of a vent near the roof.

While officials did not know the extent of the damage, they said the oven was isolated and they helped with venting the smoke.
