Charleston airport launches mobile-friendly website design

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Charleston International Airport officials said they have made checking up on flight information easier for everyone, including mobile users.

Airport officials said the new website is now easier for people on the go after it was converted to a responsive design, making information more easily accessible on smartphones and tablets.

“The new design puts the information passengers need front and center on their desktop as well as on their mobile phones and tablets,” said Charlene Gunnells, manager of corporate communications. “The new web pages also give the site an updated, fresh, modern feel and look.”

Officials said the new homepage design gives passengers more information about ground transportation and visiting Charleston alongside other travel information.

The website,, offers real-time data on flight tracking, arriving and departing flights, with links to airline and rental car company websites for booking.

Upgrades will also include new interactive features, graphics and photographs, ways to connect passengers to new information about the airport, and give updates on the current works of the Terminal Redevelopment and Improvement Program.

The site also makes it easier for people to connect and engage with the airport through its social media including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.
