GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) – One of the people accused of manufacturing meth at a Goose Creek apartment complex that sparked a fire and killed three people was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, 41-year-old Shonni Abernathy was sentenced to 30 years for conspiring to manufacture meth and manufacturing meth where children live.

Abernathy pleaded guilty in April of last year.

The investigation began in May 2012 after a suspicious fire at the Pine Harbour Apartments in Goose Creek. The fire killed three people and displaced many more.

Investigators found that Abernathy and Jerald McCabe had used a one-pot method to make meth and sparked the fire.

McCabe was sentenced to 25 years in September.
